B. Powell

Landscapes get me out of the house.  That is the benefit I value the most.  A small sketch book and cell phone are constant companions, occasionally joined by an actual camera. Finishing a painting on site is not appealing; and, sketching and drawing and photography, any of those will do the trick for me.

The discarded items that populate the landscape, those are always good subjects.  Sometimes, its just the atmosphere and light that catch my eye.  Trees are good subjects, for me.  I even include people on the train as landscapes.  The majesty of nature is the traditional subject of landscapes; but, I rarely see that. A city boy would describe my childhood; but, then that would apply to most people these days.
